How to Deal with HMO Denials
- Call the medical director and tell him or her why you need the treatment.
- Submit a letter to ask for an appeal (the HMO is required to supply you with complete information on how to file an internal appeal and how to file an appeal with the appropriate state agency).
- Pay for treatment out of pocket if you are able and seek reimbursement.
- If all else fails, consult an attorney. |
