Regardless of the sources of stress, the body's response is always the same. It tenses in reaction to stress. Some of the effects of stress are as follows.
Arteries can constrict, which may lead to heart disease, high blood pressure and even stroke. The lymphatic system tightens which can lead to decreased immunity. The digestive tract may become sluggish and could generate liver problems and digestive difficulties. Muscles may pull on joints, possibly causing arthritis pain, inflammation, disc problems and low back pain.
