The Bronze Age site of Akrotiri has produced a wealth of botanical information due to its very particular preservation processes which are at play. The very careful collection of organic materials which have been implemented since the beginning of the excavations together with the use of water flotation since the very early 1980's has produced a wealth of information rarely seen on Greek archaeological sites.
The information, therefore, is manifold and pertains to issues related to agriculture, storage, agricultural methods and even to cooked foods.
